Manage Your Time

Over commitment and poor time management can lead to stress. By planning ahead and making a reasonable schedule for yourself, you can help reduce stress. Here are some suggestions:

  • Make a list of tasks and do one at a time, checking it off as you go:
    • Give priority to those tasks that are most important.
    • Do the most unpleasant tasks early in the day, and the rest of your day will hold less anxiety.
  • Schedule time for study, work, and fun.
    • Schedule study time in blocks of 45-60 minutes with breaks in between.
    • Develop a realistic work schedule if you have a job.
    • Schedule in exercise time, TV watching time, taking a walk time, and "just hanging out with friends" time.
