Potential Majors

As you read your list of suggested academic programs, you’ll notice that some will seem more appealing than others. You may consider a program to be appealing if it requires one of your aptitudes (e.g., math, science, persuasive skills, writing, etc.) and it relates to an occupation you’re interested in, or generally seems like something you would enjoy studying.

For example, Teddy Jones was a first year student at The Ohio State University, taking part in FOCUS for the first time. As a former debate team captain, she found a major in political science to be most interesting and appealing as she believed she could apply her persuasive communication talents and find a career in lobbying or as a lawyer.
