Athletic Experiences: What Are These?

Athletics are an important part of many students’ lives – for general fitness, competition, university scholarships (as a student-athlete), and, perhaps for pure enjoyment and relaxation! Did you know that your involvement in athletics, be it at the scholarship or recreational level, will help you to build important transferable skills that your future employers will be seeking? Valuable, transferable skills are found in the athletic experience, so let’s now look at the variety of skills you can acquire.

Student-Athlete Experience

Ohio State student-athletes are encouraged to become involved in more than just athletics. One of the most innovative and noteworthy initiatives fueling this effort is the CHAMPS/Life Skills Program (Challenging Athletes’ Minds for Personal Success).

Scroll over each of the three areas in the CHAMPS/Life Skills Program below for a listing of transferable skills that you can develop as a student-athlete:

Recreational-Athletic Experience

In addition to the student-athlete experience, there are also a vast amount of recreational athletic experiences and sport teams to participate in while you’re at Ohio State.

The Department of Recreational Sports offers members of The Ohio State University community an extraordinary experience to live active and meaningful lives while on-campus.
