Pursuing a Master's Degree

A master’s degree is offered in just about all fields of study. Most of them are designed for employment or advancement within a given field in the industry. For example you can obtain a:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Master of Arts (M.A.) in a variety of fields
  • Master in Education (M.Ed.)
  • Master of Science (M.S.) in a variety of scientific fields
  • Masters of Fine Arts (MFA)
  • and many others!

Sometimes these degrees are prerequisite for doctoral work within a field. Others are "terminal" degrees that qualify you for a higher level position in employment.

Typically, there is no financial support from the department (although this could vary depending on the school you are attending). Generally, programs are 1 1/2 to 2 years long if you attend full-time.
